Lifesaver App, the premier online medical record, has enhanced their offering by including a review of systems that a patient can complete prior to visiting their physician. In turn, the physician can review the complete review of systems prior to the patient's actual appointment.
Why is this important? Any time that you visit your physician, you are asked to update your records or create a new record using a clipboard and reams of paper. Lifesaver App saves your time in completing this tedious paperwork while keeping an ongoing and updated record of your signs and symptoms.
Of course, the review of systems stores a date that the online review of systems form was created. This allows you, the patient, to view history of your symptoms and their resolution.
Lifesaver App is an online medical record designed to handle medical emergencies by providing a complete emergency report to EMTs using a cell phone powered by Microsoft tag. In addition, Lifesaver App coordinates care between a physician's office and the patient. It serves as a bridge to keep the patient updated on their healthcare.

Creating an EMR Bridge
Lifesaver App has begun the creation of a bridge to the EMR's being used in physician's offices and in hospitals. This bridge will allow the patient to complete a comprehensive review of systems, pain scale, family medical history and habit information prior to the first appointment with the doctor.
Using the physicians portal that is currently being built, a physician can access the patient's complete medical history and eliminate the need for the pesky clipboard. In addition to storing information about medications, allergies and conditions that have been diagnosed, Lifesaver App intends to put supply a complete new patient intake form.
Lifesaver App can be accessed at www.lifesaverapp.com.

Medical Allergies – Communicate them With Your Healthcare Provider
Did you know that you could suffer a serious health condition or even death as a result of an allergy to a medication? For example, if you are allergic to penicillin, you could suffer anaphylactic shock if given penicillin to treat your medical condition. It is extremely important to track allergies to medications; it is also important to track allergies to environmental triggers or foods.
For example, if you are allergic to shellfish or peanuts and suddenly end up unconscious, it is important for emergency personnel to know about your allergies. Knowing about environmental, drug or food allergies can change the treatment protocol. When emergency personnel have access to complete medical record, they can make informed medical decisions.

Lifesaver App Saves Medication History
Do you need a complete list of the drugs that you are taking? Lifesaver App allows you, the patient, to enter the medications that you are currently taking as part of the overall online medical record saved by Lifesaver App. Why is this important?
When you go to the doctor, you always have to fill out paperwork indicating the medications that you are taking. Often, it is difficult remember exactly what medications you are currently taking because they will change on a periodic basis. This important information for your physician sent there are interactions between medications and contraindications in certain cases. A medication history is extremely important.
If you need to seek emergency treatment through an EMT or emergency room, the healthcare professionals want to know what medications are prescribed. In an emergency medical situation that happens in your own home, the EMTs will actually look at your pill bottles to gain accurate information. If the medical situation occurs outside your home, they do not have access to the most current information. Medication history is an extremely important component of emergency treatment protocol.
Lifesaver App tracks not only prescribed medications but also over-the-counter medications. In addition to prescription drugs, you can list herbs, vitamins and supplements that might be interacting with the prescription drugs that you're taking. Lifesaver App provides the information that a healthcare provider needs in order to make informed decisions about your medical treatment.

Personal Health Record integration with Electronic Medical Record
First, we need to define terminology. A personal health record (PHR) is usually kept by an individual – a potential patient. An electronic medical record (EMR) or electronic health record (EHR) is usually populated by a physician's office or healthcare provider such as a hospital or nursing home.
Rarely does the personal health record communicate with the electronic medical record being kept at the physician's office. Why not, you ask? For one thing, patients do not assume responsibility for their own health care. They abdicate that responsibility to the physician. In fairness, the physician often fails to communicate all the pertinent information to the patient. This results in a gap that Lifesaver App is attempting to fill. By creating a personal health record that can be accessed by physicians, both to read pertinent information and to upload test results and medical history, it creates an entire cycle of information for the patient. to read about that type of integration, follow this link: http://www.lifesaverapp.com/news.htm
Is this type of integration important? Absolutely! It is absolutely critical to saving lives and cutting cost of medical care.
